Cover Reveal: Rapture by Lauren Kate

So this is Rapture, the final novel in the Fallen Series by Lauren Kate. If you remember, I had a post back in January about Passion, the third book, and it's cover. There, I mentioned that I really didn't like the cover because it was just so bright compared to the others. But this got right back on track. I love the darkness that reflects Fallen and Torment. Such a great finish for this series!

Cover Reveal: Endlessly by Kiersten White

Thursday on her blog, Kiersten White (the hilarious author of Paranormalcy and Supernaturally) revealed the cover of the third and final book in the Paranormalcy Trilogy. Here it is:

How gorgeously gorgeous is this? Gosh, I'd buy these books just for the covers! They're so darn pretty! But you shouldn't just buy them for the covers. They're amazing and funny, so go and get them!

Cover Reveal: Underworld by Meg Cabot

Meg Cabot, the author of Abandon, revealed the cover of the sequel as a treat to her fans last night:

I haven't read this book yet but everyone (literally, like every reading fanatic I know) is telling me to read it! I'll get right on it, you guys!

I love these covers. They really grab your attention, and I know that Meg is a great author since I've read previous books of hers. Can't wait to read these as well!

Cover Reveals: As Dead As It Gets and Timepiece

Here's the newly revealed cover of As Dead As It Gets, new in the Bad Girls Don't Die Series:

I love this cover. Soooo creepy! I have yet to read Bad Girls Don't Die, but it sounds awesome.

And there's also the ARC cover of Timepiece by Myra McEntire. I loved Hourglass, the prequel, and I can't wait to read the next installment. Look at the pretty cover!

A great companion to Hourglass's cover.

Cover Love: The Mercy Series by Rebecca Lim

As I was reading the amazing, lyrical novel Mercy [insert link] I kept noticing the many different covers the novel has received. And all of them are very beautiful.

Mercy Cover #1
So, this is the cover my copy had. I think it fits the book well because as much as the story has a beautiful voice, it's very dark.

Mercy Cover #2
This is the cover I used in my review, and it's the only cover theme that I've seen used in each novel of the series. I love it because it shows Mercy looking very much like the beautiful angel she's supposed to be, but I also don't like it because it looks like she's a beacon for good when really, she's probably not one of the nicest people you'd ever meet.

Mercy Cover #3
This cover is very lovely, much like the other two, but I don't think it has anything to do with the story. Water's hardly ever mentioned, and it looks as if she's underwater. But I love how the skirt looks like it's made with feathers.

Exile Cover #1
This is the sequel to Mercy, and you can see that it looks a lot like Mercy Cover #2. I don't like it that much, though, because the model doesn't remind me of what I think Mercy looks like. Not one of my favorites.

Exile Cover #2
This cover reminds me of exile, really. The bright white nothing, and Mercy standing at the center of it all.

Muse Cover #1
This is the third novel in the Mercy Series. Again, you can see that it resembles Mercy Cover #2 and Exile Cover #1. I think it's so pretty, because of the lovely model and the light obscuring part of her face. But I dislike the pink. I think it might throw off a reading enthusiast looking for an angel novel. Because from what I've read so far, Mercy isn't all about happiness and love. It's also about pain, darkness, and sacrifice.

Muse Cover #2
My favorite part of this cover are the feathers falling out of her hair. It's my favorite out of all seven of the series's various covers. As much as it is lovely, I think the model covering her face gives the slightest clue that it's not all happy, but is also dark.

Well? What are your favorites?

Cover Love and Preview: Awake at Dawn by C. C. Hunter

As I mentioned earlier, I loved C. C. Hunter's Born at Midnight! As I was looking at the sequel, Awake at Dawn, I fell even more in love with this cover! Check it out:

Now that she’s settled in at Shadow Falls Camp, Kylie Galen’s determined to discover the extent of her supernatural abilities.  But with a ghost insisting someone Kylie loves is about die, a rogue vampire on a murdering rampage, and her sixth sense telling her someone is watching her, Kylie’s quest for answers is quickly put on hold.

To make matters worse, just when she’s about to give her heart to Derek, a half-fairy, he starts pulling away.  When Lucas, a werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past, returns, Kylie’s feels more conflicted than ever. Her weekend with her mom should have been the just the break Kylie needs, but it turns out to be her breaking point.  Someone from the dark side of the supernatural world has plans for Kylie--and it'll take all her resources to get back to Shadow Falls alive...

--------

The cover is just amazing with Kylie standing in front of Shadow Falls. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for blues and turquoises like this. The waterfall is just breathtaking!! *Gush*

I can't wait to see the next installment in Kylie's life. Hunter does a nice job with her characterization, and truth be told, I can't wait for Lucas to come back! He was my favorite out of Derek and Lucas, the two boys vying for Kylie's attention. Can't wait for this one!

Awake at Dawn comes out on October 11, 2011

Let's Talk Covers: 2011 Releases

A wonderful story should include a cover that speaks for it. Beautiful covers always catch my eye and make me want to read the book. Here's a list of covers that make me anxious to pick up the book and just read, read, read!

Title: The Girl in the Steel Corset   Author: Kady Cross   Release Date: May 24
I love this cover! Although it looks like an adult novel, the corset showing from the back of the dress really catches the title of the novel. And I love the amazing red dress and steel elements added.

Title: The Day Before   Author: Lisa Shroeder   Release Date: June 28
The model is gorgeous and I love the mysterious vibe the cover's giving. The grass covering her face and her hair mixed into the grass is wonderful, and it reminds me of Anna Jarzab's All Unquiet Things cover.

Title: Supernaturally   Author: Kiersten White   Release Date: July 26
The first cover was amazing, and the second makes another wonderful installment. I love the way the words are backed by an orange glow and red flowers. Honestly, you don't see much red on covers that have to with werewolves/vampries/shapeshifters. I think its a nice change.

Title: Lola and the Boy Next Door   Author: Stephanie Perkins  Release Date: September 29
I've never read Perkins first book, Anna and the French Kiss, but I heard it was hilarious. The covers also speak for the books: they're fun, flirty, and creative. I love this cover, because the model has short purple hair! So cute!

What do you think? What covers are your favorite?

Which Cover? You Decide

As most of you already know if you read Andrea Cremer's blog lately, you know that Nightshade and Wolfsbane have new covers. Personally, I don't know which one is better. They are both beautiful... What about you? Which of the two do you like? Or do you like both?

Personally, I like the second one better. I love how they have incorporated the wolf with Calla and the way they set it up so that the wolf's and Calla's eyes match up. But I also like the original because they have the Calla lilies. Both are amazing.

Honestly, I don't know. I think I'd like to purchase the original cover because I have the original Nightshade cover. But the second one is just as pretty. I love how they again incorporated the wolf by her crouching stance and the full moon behind her.

ARGH! Why'd they have to make such beautiful covers??

Let's Talk Covers

So as you know, I posted yesterday that I had just gotten Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen, and as I was searching the Internet for Bright Young Things (you know, seeing the reviews, la la la) I found this:

That's right, a cover for the sequel to Bright Young Things, Beautiful Days. I searched Beautiful Days on Amazon.com and nothing came up except for Bright Young Things. So, for all of you readers out there who loved (or love currently) Bright Young Things, I wouldn't get your hopes up considering I don't even know if this is the right cover. But it is a beautiful cover, and so who knows. Plus, it looks similar to the Bright Young Things cover.

And while on The Compulsive Reader, I read that Wish by Alexandra Bullen (which I have yet to read) has a sequel coming out January 1st. And, my goodness, the story sounds amazing and the cover looks beautiful:

It's just a beautiful cover. I actually like it better than the cover of Wish, and the story line sounds better. I can't wait till January, when it's out and I can go and get it! Ah hem, anyway, I love the dark background and the golden butterflies buzzing around. The words really stand out too, and the model is a gorgeous add-on, much like the cover of Wish, although that was more stars than focusing on the girl.

This cover stood out for my on Amazon one day while searching for new releases. I have yet to read the series (I am way behind, aren't I?) but this cover is so darkly pretty that I fell in love with it:

I love how the models hair covers half her face, giving it a mysterious vibe, and how her makeup is so simply pretty. It looks ominous, but pretty, and I love the lettering, how it's simple and doesn't take away from the rest of the cover. It really focuses on her face, letting her hair somewhat blend into the dark background. Over all, just a dark and ominous cover that makes me want to pick it up and read.

Ugh, and finally, this one had been bugging me from the day I saw it. It's a new release, so you can go out and buy it publicly currently, it's the fifth in the Blue Bloods series that I need to finish, and I just loved this cover more than the rest (although the rest were great, too):

My goodness, so bright and angelic. What I've loved of the entire series is the black footer of each book, giving a place from the story. I believe this is Istanbul, Turkey, but I don't know. The wings are gorgeous, and they give you the angel feel. The model looks haunted like she's about to make a large decision. Her black hair really stands out and if you look closely, she has bright blue eyes which I believe make her eyes stand out more against the bright white of her wings. They downplay the lettering so that the full attention is on the model and beauty of the cover. Over all, marvelous.

So, any books you thought looked amazing (or still look amazing)? Tell me about it! And if you disagree, tell me, too. I just loved these covers, and I hope you will, too.
