I've been waiting to read this book for awhile, and I'm glad I did read it. Although it isn't one of my most favorite books ever, I did enjoy Neily's voice and the complexity of Carly and the life that both Audrey and Neily didn't know about until they discovered more about Carly throughout their investigation.

Of the two voices of this novel, I found that I enjoyed Neily's more because he was really hurt by Carly and what she did to him. That and we see more of Neily anyway. Audrey was, in my opinion, somewhat of a hypocrite as she didn't practice many of the things she preached. Towards the end of the novel, you see that she's drifted away from the investigation more and left most of it to Neily as she rediscovers her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Cass.

Overall, this was more of a think-it-through murder mystery. The ending didn't shock me so much,but I thought it was interesting how Neily and Audrey clicked the pieces together. The story was very complex and intriguing and it sucked you into trying to discover what happened to Carly and what she got herself into.

The Cover: PERFECT for this novel. The model on the cover was exactly what the book described Carly to look like. I loved the cover; it's simple, elegant, and has the undertone of creepiness, especially with the title!

Love love LOVE Meg Cabot's novels! I've read her Airhead trilogy, the 1-800-WHERE-R-YOU series, and the Princess Diaries series and they were both wonderful! I can't wait to read Abandon!
 
I've never read one of the Summer novels, but from what I hear they are great. I can't wait to pick up this series too.

Haven't read the first book of this, Halo, but I've been waiting to see the cover for the second book as I loved the cover of the first. This reminds me so much of the myth of Persephone and Hades. Persephone gets carried away by Hades, ends up in Hell, etc. etc. The first book sounded very cool and the second sounds like she's going to add cliff-hangers....

I love this series. I started to read it a few years ago, but thought it was a little dark. Then I got it for Christmas and I started reading it and I fell in love: hard. Jace and Clary's story captivated me as soon as I got into the series deeper. A definite must read: I can't say it enough.

I love Cassandra's writing, because she paints the picture of the Shadowhunter world very well. Her details are always very good, but in COFA, I thought it was heavy in places. Like she added a little too much clarification and detail to the story. That's why it probably took me a week to read it, but then again I've been pretty busy.

I LOVE the characters! You see so much more of Simon in this novel, and I think its great. Downworlders are very interesting, and after reading about Shadowhunters for the first three books that I think it was refreshing to catch a glimpse into the other world. Also, Isabelle was amazing, as usual. I love her. She's so honest, but she had a soft spot on her, somewhere....

Overall, this installment had me thirsting for more. Clare left a wide opening at the end, making me scream (more than once) "OH MY GOD, WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NOW???" Love her writing, the characters, all of it!

The Cover: Although in previous posts I said that I like the face being shown, I think I changed my mind. I'd rather Clary's face to be hidden, first because her eyes are demonic and second because I just like the hidden faces. It gives the books an air of mystery. But I do like the two people on the cover.
